Winter is officially over down here in Australia. Sad really. I do love the cold. Not that we really get much of it over here. But still …
I took some photos about a month ago wearing (surprise, surprise!) almost all black. I bought the boots last winter and I’m afraid I didn’t really get much use out of them this season as it wasn’t really cold enough. Alas, I did get to wear them at least once. This is the second time I will have a crinkled skirt in my posts which is really annoying, so please don’t judge me. I only really noticed it afterwards when I was going through the photos but I just never really think about ironing skirts. Oh well, next time I’ll learn.
And now for my last outfit of the winter. Bring on summer, I say! Top – Now, Skirt – Sportsgirl, Boots – Target, Bag – Fiorelli, Necklace – Lovisa.
I have never kept secret my love of simplicity in clothing. My wardrobe does rather resemble a chess board, but that’s just me. I have never been brave enough to delve into the more violent shades, but I would not say that monochrome must always be bland and boring. In fact, it can be very daring. Exciting, even. The textures, the cuts, the fabrics, the details. So many possibilities…
It’s been so long since my last post! My life has been so hectic recently with uni and everything. Finally, it’s all over and I’m on holidays for a month. Phew! A while ago I took some photos of an outfit I wore out to lunch. It was so long ago, I can’t really remember the circumstances but a cafe catch-up sounds most likely – it’s probably one of my favourite things to do. Since then I have actually lost the jacket. I think I left it behind somewhere. Hopefully, someone somewhere in Brisbane is happily enjoying their life one jacket richer. I only had it for a few weeks, so they got it in perfect condition.
I realise the skirt in these photos looks horribly creased and abused, but I swear this is just how it looks. I have tried ironing it – to no avail. So no judging!
Blazer – Portmans, Skirt – Portmans, White T-shirt – French Connection.
I wore this outfit out shopping today … and of course now I’m broke. Oh well, there’s nothing I like more than to spend my hard-earned cash on some lovely new outfits! And I bought three pairs of shoes today for an absolute bargain. What a successful day!
Eh hem … apologies for the chicken wings in the next photo. I was uhhh trying to “twirl” …
Top – Sportsgirl. Skirt – Chicabooti. Bag – Sportsgirl. Shoes – London Rebel.
University – scary or exciting? Liberating or imprisoning? I haven’t quite made up my mind about it all yet. Only two weeks to go before orientation week, and then … it all begins. I went to get my ID card today – a horrid experience! It doesn’t seem to matter how long you spend on your hair, makeup and various poses, it always seems to turn out all wrong. And today was no exception. If only you could submit your own photo, or at least if they would let you see it before they print it to check if it’s all okay. But no, it’s just one big nasty surprise. Oh well, it’s done now. You may not be surprised to know that I met up with my girls today clad all in Sportsgirl gear. I know, I’m rather pathetic. I just love their clothes so much, and everything I’ve ever bought has proved to be worthy of frequent use. So I shan’t defend myself any more. You may have to get used to seeing a rather extravagant amount of Sportsgirl clothes from me! Oh and apologies for the marks on the shirt, I have no idea what they are but I just noticed them.
This was my outfit for today –
Shirt – Sportsgirl. Skirt – Sportsgirl. Shoes – London Rebel. Bag – Sportsgirl. Necklace – Lovisa.
I thought I’d share with you all one of my favourite casual outfits (I literally wear this ALL the time). It’s proved to be extremely versatile and I can wear it to so many different occasions. I really love the simplicity of this outfit and I always get complimented whenever I wear it. The top and black cami are both from Review and the shorts are from Jacqui-E. The shoes are Diana Ferrari and the bag is the same as in the last OOTD (from Sportsgirl).
Today I went out for breakfast with my mum and grandparents at a cafe in Samford called ‘The Flying Nun’. It’s basically a converted chapel with tables inside and outside. There are trees absolutely everywhere and it’s a beautiful place to just sit and relax. It did get VERY busy though at around 10 o’clock, good thing we made a reservation! I decided on a simple meal of toasted sourdough with smashed avocado and olive oil, with a spritz of lemon juice and salt and pepper on top. I have to say I was a little disappointed. It seems extremely difficult to find a good avocado on toast these days. Probably because avocado isn’t in season. Mine was definitely underripe. Oh well, the coffee was great and I even got a little chocolate-covered coffee bean on the side. How nice!
So I start university in four weeks. Scary right? I’m not really that nervous though, more excited! I bought a whole heap of new clothes the other day to wear to uni which would be comfortable, simple and easy to dress up or down as I chose. The prevailing colour seemed to be a kind of maroon-y colour, which I was quite surprised at as usually I opt for more muted colours and shades like black, white, and blue. I took some photos (like my last post) in front of my mum’s mirror again, BUT after a little fiddling with my camera discovered the ‘self-timer’ button and took some much better photos downstairs near my living room. I’ll show you both sets of photos (although I’m still terribly embarrassed to have to post photos taken in a bathroom in front of a filthy mirror!). So without further ado, here are my two OOTD’s for today and yesterday:
